Yin Yoga is a slower, deeper & more passive approach to the yoga practice with a sequence of floor-based postures, usually held for 3-5 minutes.
Each posture invites you to move consciously and meditatively toward exploring your edge, whilst breathing gently and opening up to the sensations that arise in your body.
This deeply nourishing practice targets the deeper yin tissues of the body, including the joints, connective tissues and fascia in order to create more space and flexibility within the sketelal and muscular system. Energetically it seeks to free up internal blockages through our meridian lines to enable chi (our vital essence) to move freely through our bodies.
Yin yoga can be both deeply nourishing, particularly on our nervous systems, as well as challenging to our bodies and minds, and yet it offers the perfect balance to some of the more 'yang' based physical exercises and general way of living.
